MATADOR was founded in 1900 and is now managed in the fourth generation by Peter Kissling.
At its traditional production site in Remscheid, Germany, MATADOR manufactures about 3,000 standard hand tools and special tools for industrial and professional users with state-of-the-art machinery. As a manufacturer we are certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2000.
More than 100 years of know how in the production of quality hand tools, our own forging department with forging capacities of up to 500 tons, numerous machines for surface treatment, a fully automatic hardening plant, modern galvanization facilities to chrome-plate our tools (of course chrome VI free) and last but not least our highly motivated, qualified and committed staff form the basis of what is known as the MATADOR flexibility and quality.

For many years mainly leading automotive manufacturers and big industrial companies have been relying on the MATADOR quality. Due to the fact that our price-performance ratio is very attractive and that MATADOR is still quite exclusive in the market, wholesalers more and more take our products into consideration as an attractive alternative compared to other manufacturers of premium tools. With exports accounting for 50% of our sales MATADOR hand tools are available in more than 90 countries in the world.

2. PRIVATE LABEL
Thanks to our own large machinery MATADOR has manufactured special tools for the automotive industry as well as numerous Private Label products with increasing growth rates since years. Today 28 manufacturer’s brands and trade brands pass our production – an indication for their trust in our know-how. Our main private label products are wrenches and socket sets according to DIN but also special tools according to customer’s specifications.
3. INDUSTRIAL
With several horizontal forging presses with a pressure capacity of 80 to 500 tons and with the help of conductive and inductive heating we produce many special tools like bolts, flanges, extensions, hollow tools etc. But also OEM tools for the automotive industry and miscellaneous special products for industrial users are part of our INDUSTRIAL range. Thus MATADOR today ranks amongst the A-suppliers for several leading automotive companies.
